How much does Relio cost?
Nothing during the beta. Every account gets 60 minutes of video to make Shorts from and 1 GB of cloud space for videos; Settings › Usage in the app shows what you have left. Open Relio.
What happens to my footage?
In the desktop apps, your source files, projects, preview, and rendering stay on your computer. The web app saves your projects and videos to your account (up to 1 GB of video), so they open on any device you sign in on; deleting a project or your account deletes them for good. See Privacy. Audio chunks, transcripts, sampled frames, and editor chat messages are sent for AI processing. On Mac, they go through Relio’s server and OpenRouter to an AI model; on Windows and Linux, they go to Google Gemini. Relio needs an internet connection; it has no offline AI mode.
Can I change the Shorts Relio picks?
Yes. Review and adjust every Short before export. Change the timing, choose Fill, Fit, or Split framing, try seven caption styles, or ask the editor chat to help with edits.
Where can I post my exports?
Relio exports vertical MP4 files at up to 1080 × 1920. Upload them yourself to your favorite short-form platforms, including YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok. Direct publishing isn’t built in.
Is this ready for my daily workflow?
Relio is an early beta. The Mac pipeline works end to end, but you should review every clip and expect rough edges. Windows and Linux ports are available but still need verification on real devices. Read the current limits.
Do I need a Relio account?
On Mac, sign in to the app with your Relio account to use the AI service. Your dashboard also shows your export stats and history. Windows and Linux use your own Gemini API key instead. Create an account.
How do I get started?
Download Relio, sign in on Mac or add your Gemini API key on Windows or Linux, and import a video. See the three-step workflow for a quick tour.
